The Agritech4Tanzania Accelerator is powered by the Data for Digital Agriculture Transformation in Tanzania (D4DAT), a Joint Programme funded by the European Union through the Joint SDG fund and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and jointly implemented by the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and Tanzania’s Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT of CGIAR, the Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP), and Tanzania Data Lab (dLab)

What is the AgriTech4Tanzania Accelerator?

A structured business acceleration programme helping Tanzanian agri-tech enterprises strengthen their use of data to improve products, services, operations, and business growth through technical assistance, mentorship, peer learning, and strategic partnerships.

Who is the programme for?

Tanzanian registered agri-tech enterprises that have an existing product or service in the market, use or generate agricultural data, are committed to strengthening data capabilities and scaling, and can dedicate time and personnel to participate fully.

Is there a cost to participate?

No. Participation is fully funded for selected enterprises. Participants are expected to commit sufficient time and resources to actively engage throughout the programme.

Can startups apply?

The programme primarily targets enterprises beyond the idea stage with demonstrated market validation or operational experience. Early-stage startups with strong evidence of traction may also be considered.

Can NGOs, cooperatives, or social enterprises apply?

Yes, provided the organisation is registered and its business model/operations include sustainable, data-driven agricultural services or technologies that can be scaled.

Is the programme open to enterprises outside Dar es Salaam?

Yes. Enterprises from all regions of Tanzania are encouraged to apply. Some activities may be delivered virtually, others in person at designated locations.

How many enterprises will be selected?

A limited cohort to ensure tailored support — expected not to exceed 10 enterprises.

Does participating guarantee funding or investment?

No. Participation does not guarantee grant funding or investment, but the programme aims to improve investment readiness and facilitate introductions to investors and partners.

Will my business information remain confidential?

Yes. Information submitted is treated confidentially and used only for programme administration, selection, monitoring, evaluation, and learning, unless otherwise agreed with the participant.

Who should sign the application form?

A founder of the AgriTech Enterprise. The enterprise must be a registered legal entity with authority to enter into agreements with dLab.

Is there an appeal process for rejected applications?

There is no appeal process. Unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to review the accelerator Implementation Guidelines for the attributes strong applications should demonstrate.
