Invitation to attend A Health Data Workshop on Monday, 7Th of November 2016

The Tanzania Data Lab (dLab) and World Bank (WB) are pleased to invite you to a health data workshop, composed of a morning of training and afternoon of roundtable discussion. The workshop will be held on 7th of November 2016 from 10:00AM to 16:00PM at the University of Dar es Salaam College of Information and Communication Technologies, Kijitonyama along Ali Hassan Mwinyi Road.

The training in the morning, delivered by an expert from the Open Data Institute (ODI), will focus on core concepts such as licensing and case studies of impact created with open health data, and will provide time for practical work with a Tanzanian health dataset. It will also include a discussion of the list of health sector data that the government is preparing for release.

The roundtable in the afternoon - which will be facilitated by trainers from dLab, WB and ODI - will explore how health data is currently being published and used in Tanzania and what steps can be taken to make health data more impactful. It will allow stakeholders from government, private sector, civil society and media to share their own perspectives and hear from others, with the aim of co-creating a plan of action for the next six months.
