dLab is Conducting a Joint Workshop with Save the Children on 18th October 2016

The Tanzania Data Lab (dLab) in collaboration with Save the Children will hold a joint workshop on 18th October 2016 at the dLab space. The main objective of the workshop is to raise awareness and understanding of the extent and drivers of exclusion, with emphasis on the most marginalized children’s groups in Tanzania using existing data.

Up to 30 participants are expected to converge at the dLab space and explore issues pertaining to child exclusion in Tanzania. This consultative workshop will bring together a range of key stakeholders from government, CSOs, academia and development partners. The workshop aim to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Understand how the existing data can be used to map exclusion and inform various stakeholders intervention efforts
  • Identify the barriers to using data for developmental work around inclusion and develop ideas on how to overcome them
  • Lay out strategies to enhance networking and coordination of different actors’ efforts on the context of inclusion of the most excluded children’s groups for better implementation of different child rights’ projects
